One of the great pleasures in my work is coming across amazing people with amazing ideas. One of these is Neishaa Gharat and her company House of Gharat.
Neishaa Gharat is the Creative Director and Founder of House Of Gharats, a London based design house creating conscious luxury for artful dressing and living.
Neishaa’s sustainable Blue Fashion scarf project in collaboration with the Commonwealth Fashion Council was presented at the FAO of the United Nations International Symposium in Rome. She is a voice & advocate of style and is often photographed and featured in London Fashion Week street style diaries. She regularly volunteers her design skills for charities like Oxfam and British Red Cross. She has appeared on CNN-News18 UK and BBC Radio London and is regularly featured in leading global magazines namely Architectural Digest, Platform Magazine, Unblock Magazine, Wildabout Magazine, Blouin Art Info, She Canada, London Design Festival.
I met Neishaa through her work with the Commonwealth Council of Fashion
The ‘handle’ for CFC is ‘People Planet Hope’ and as the issue of sustainable fashion is getting increasing attention, I found it encouraging to discover the number of initiates which CFC is championing, Neishaa’s Blue Fashion scarf being one example. In the past year, I have become increasingly involved in working with different areas of the Commonwealth family and have had my eyes opened to the amazing work being conducted by its various bodies, the CFC being one of these. In these days Post Brexit, it seems logical for British Business to reach out to an existing network of 54 countries with whom we have already established trading connections and benefits. More of this in later posts.
